Join Hackney Nappy Network Nappy Ever After and Wrapahug Sling Library for a reusable nappy demonstration, pop-up shop and sling library! Every month they’ll be at Hackney Central Library, where Esther and Joy from Nappy Ever After will tell you everything you need to know about reusable nappies and Mel about slings / baby carrying. Their friendly and informal demonstrations are for anyone who is interested to learn more about reusable nappies or slings, whether you are an expectant parent or parent. All welcome!
The nappy talk starts at 10am and will last approx 40 mins. The session will cover:
- The different kinds of reusable nappies
- The newborn stage
- Washing and drying guidance
- Local nappy initiatives
- Troubleshooting advice.
On the day you’ll be able to claim your free £70 reusable nappy voucher from a Hackney Council officer (please bring supporting documents – proof of ID, Address, pregnant or with a child under 18 months), or you can apply ahead of the event here:
Joy from Nappy Ever After will also tell you about their nappy laundry service and shop.
Following the nappy demonstration, Mel from Wrapahug Sling Library will offer a free newborn sling demonstration where she will:
- Show different sling options for newborns/small babies
- Explain safety and positioning
- Demo slings and explain how they work
- Show how to feed in the slings
- Answer your questions.

The Reusable Nappy Demonstration with Pop-up Shop and Sling Library is usually monthly during term-time only. Timings of the day:
10am – 11am: Reusable Nappy Demonstration with Q&A
11:15am – 11:45am: Sling Demonstration with Q&A
11:50am – 12pm: trying on slings
No need to book, just show up at 10am!
