Would you like to get involved with Real Nappies for London and Hackney Nappy Network to help promote reusable nappies in your local community?
Join us for a Volunteer Meetup on Wednesday 4 March 2025, 11:30am – 1pm at Dreami Play Café. This is a relaxed opportunity to meet us, learn more about what we’re working on, and explore how you might like to get involved.
At last year’s meetup, we heard how important visibility and conversations are in normalising reusable nappies. Volunteers felt that people need more opportunities to see and talk about them, and that face-to-face community events play a key role in breaking down common misconceptions about how reusables work. There was also strong support for promoting our incentive scheme through trusted routes such as hospitals, midwives and health visitors, helping new parents encounter reusable nappies earlier in familiar settings. These ideas continue to shape how we work and where volunteer support can make the biggest difference, supporting a wider community-led approach.
There are lots of ways to volunteer with us, including:
- handing out our leaflets
- supporting our reusable nappy events
- encouraging other parents and carers by sharing your real-life experiences of using reusable nappies
Volunteering is flexible and based around your time and energy, and we’d love to hear any ideas you may have.
We’ll provide light refreshments (tea/coffee/cake).
