The London scheme

What it is

This is a new London-wide scheme to provide parents with an opportunity to try real nappies.

If the London borough in which you live has joined Real Nappies for London and you have a child under the age of 18 months, you could be entitled to claim an information pack and voucher. The voucher can be redeemed for nappies (and accessories) or a nappy laundry service (for a limited period) within six months of you receiving it.

Check the list of boroughs here to see if your borough has joined the scheme.

Voucher value and numbers will vary from borough to borough. If all vouchers in your borough have already been distributed, you may still receive an information pack.

Events, workshops and ‘nappuccinos’ are run in each participating borough. Residents may go to any event in any of these boroughs. Go to Where, what and who to find out what is going on.

To apply for your pack you will need to complete a form and provide evidence of:

• where you live, such as council tax, water, gas, electricity or landline phone bill;
• your identity, such as driver’s licence, passport, birth certificate;
• pregnancy or birth of your child – your MatB1 form or baby’s birth certificate.

Please provide copies, not originals, of these documents.

You may apply online or complete a form on a Real Nappies for London leaflet available from ante natal clinics, participating borough council offices, other locations and events across London. You can also take your evidence with you to a local Real Nappies for London event such as a nappuccino and fill in a form there, while you have a chat with a real nappy expert and other parents, see examples of real nappies and find out how to use them.
